Man Commits Suicide Over Job Loss

The decomposing body of a 33-year-old man, Gbenga Ogundana, has been discovered by Police detectives in Akure, Ondo State capital, after he reportedly committed suicide over loss of his job.
Reports has it that the body was discovered in his rented apartment located at Orisunmbare Street, Cultural Centre, Akure, four days after he allegedly poisoned himself.

Parading the suspects before newsmen in Owerri, acting Commissioner of Police, Dave Akinremi, said operatives acting on a tip-off arrested one Joy Emmanu­el, a member of the syndi­cate, who is a nurse resident at Amafeke, Orlu, and a na­tive of Eziobodo in Owerri West Local Government.

Cops Kill Driver, Conductor Over N500 Bribe

Policemen attached to the Taraba State Police Command have been accused of killing a driver and his conductor on the Jalingo-Wukari Road.
The incident reportedly happened around 6pm on Sunday when the policemen allegedly mounted a checkpoint in the area.
The killing of the trailer driver and his assistant reportedly followed their refusal to part with a N500 bribe demanded by the policemen at the checkpoint.
According to an internet news portal, eagleonline, the victims were shot dead very close to Wukari, which led to a protest by other trailer drivers.

Residents of Isikalu Lane, Olodi-Apapa in the Ajegunle area of Lagos said they had yet to get over the shock of seeing a middle-aged man burnt to death by hoodlums after they accused him of theft.
