There are simple things to do to lose weight without necessarily
going on hunger strike. At least that is what I consider dieting to be – hunger
strike. I believe strongly in healthy eating and regular exercising, but there
are things people can do and achieve result without a fear of much lifestyle
shift.
I believe that these simple steps, if followed holistically, can
help anyone shed some pounds while getting much healthier too. If there is a
wholehearted commitment to these tips for a few weeks without changing any
other aspect of one’s lifestyle, there will be a difference the next time he
climbs the scale.
Sleeping longer at night
Two groups of people were looked at, in a recent study carried out
at the University of Chicago. Both groups were on a low calorie diet. While one
group slept 5.5 hours per night, the other slept 8.5 hours. The result was that
both groups lost equal amount of weight – seven pounds, but the group that
slept 5.5 hours lost mostly muscle, while the group that slept 8.5 hours lost
mostly fat. The implication is that if you want to shed fat and slim down,
sleep longer at night.
Eating fermented foods
Fermented foods are those substances that have been put through
the process of zymolysis. This process makes the organic substances to break
down into simpler forms. Examples of fermented foods are kimchi, yogurt, sauerkraut, miso
and kombucha. If you have eaten
sugary food or taken antibiotics of late, the likelihood is that your body is
infested with much bad bacteria and little good bacteria. The good bacteria,
referred to as probiotics, present in fermented food substances are bugs, which
our bodies cannot do without. They prevent our immune system from breaking
down, meaning that they keep us from developing allergies, arthritis, and
colds.
Adherence to these tips will definitely enhance healthy weight
loss.
