You can boost your iron level

To maintain healthy blood and build your muscles in a healthy way, you need iron. As essential as iron is in the body, it is difficult to get the amount of iron you need in the body on a daily basis. However, if you know the foods that contain iron, the task is simpler. The required amount of iron in the body is 8 mg for men and 18 mg for women.

It is important to know that Vitamin C is a major conductor of iron in the body. In other words, Vitamin C helps the body to absorb iron from foods that have iron content. The following are foods that are rich in iron:

Grains
These include all cereals served hot or cold. The amount of iron in cold cereals is higher than that in hot ones: 1.8 to 21.1 mg in hot cereals and 4.9 to 8.1 mg in cold cereals. Cereals richly fortified are also rich in calcium.

Spinach
Spinach is very rich in iron. Half a cup of it gives about 3.2 mg of iron. Spinach cooks easily and makes excellent dish.

Organ meats
Three ounces of animal parts such as giblets and liver provide between 5.2 and 9.9 mg of iron, as well as rich amount of calories.

Soybeans

Soybeans is a rich source of iron. You have as much as 4.4 mg of iron from half a cup of soybeans. Care, however, must be taken since soybeans contains plant estrogen which can cause health problems if consumed in high doses.
